Issues With My Issues

I've been in a bit of a mental rough patch lately and, until today, I thought I'd been dealing with it. But right after breakfast, Hannah came over to me and very solemnly asked, "Mommy, do you have issues today?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know: problems. Are you having problems today?"

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry so, instead, I gave her a big hug and told her that I thought my issues were going to take the day off.

I know. Too bad so many people lose that ability as they get older. :)

Kids are just too linked in. In August while camping, Morgan took my hand, looked into my eyes and said, "I'm so sorry Momma, I really did want that brother."

I think people shut down because they feel it is a way of learning to control themselves. Also it is no easy thing to see other's pain so clearly. Kids are allowed to speak without filters, but the second a grown up does it.. it's "creepy".

NOt that I'm speaking from experience or anything!

Love and Hugs, You WILL be getting a call from me soon.
